I have had 29 years of operating a successful potter studio and sole proprietor business. I have taught, designed, produced and sold art and functional pottery over that period. I have taught at the college level for 18 years. I have been involved in motivating and recruiting volunteers, developing programs, raising funds, overseeing committees, organizing events, drafting budgets and brochures, meeting deadlines, delegating tasks, in addition to representing and leading several non-profit groups.

History Interpreter, Kansas City Parks and Recreation, at Hodge Park. Acted as tour guide and crafts demonstrator for a 1850's Missouri village. Designed, built, and coordinated 8 demonstration firings of a 70 c. ft. traditional wood fired kiln for the KC Parks and Rec.

...A booster since it's start in 1996, and still actively involved with production. Served on the Fall Festival Committee through 2007. Functioned as a contracted Vendor and Entertainment coordinator the last 3 years.
CONCOURSE FOUNTAIN RENOVATION PROJECT
...assisted in collecting approximately 1,000 petition signatures for it's renovation. Coordinated community meetings with KC Parks and Rec.
...succeeded in getting community support and approval of a renovation design by the Parks Dept. Fall 2001 renovation of fountain began with secured PIAC funding. This project was started in 1998. Renovation was completed in the summer of 2002.
...The fountain at Concourse Park has been a picturesque backdrop for the Historic Northeast Fall Festival since it's renovation and through 2007.
The Fountain continues to host Bike Races, Small events and in April of 2008 the first La Strada Dell’Arte event titled Chalk Walk in the Historic Northeast, an Historic Northeast Cultural Arts Commission / Mosaic Brain community sponsored event.
ST JOHN GARDENS, A community garden in Northeast.
…Sponsor/land owner of the St John Gardens property. The lot was purchased from Land Trust by Rebecca and is located at 3916-3920 next to the POTTERY at 3922 St John.
The garden is open to the neighborhood by becoming a member of the garden group and building raised beds and plots. The garden planning and planting started April of 2006 with the help of neighbors, friends and area businesses dedicated to community. Northeast Arts Commission has adopted the garden for ongoing ART GARDENS and various features, sculptures, landscaping and on going murals by area artists.
